Title: My Self-Driving Travel Adventure
Last summer, my family and I embarked on an exciting self-driving trip across the beautiful landscapes of China. Here's a detailed account of our journey.
Day 1: Departure from Beijing
We started our adventure in the bustling city of Beijing. After packing our luggage, we set off early in the morning. Our first stop was the Great Wall of China, where we marveled at the ancient structure and took many photos. After a lunch break, we continued our journey to the Summer Palace, a serene and beautiful royal garden. We spent the evening in a cozy hotel near the city center.
Day 2: Exploring the Yangtze River
The next day, we drove to the city of Yichang, where we boarded a boat for a three-day cruise on the Yangtze River. The river was majestic, and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way. We visited the Three Gorges Dam, one of the world's largest hydroelectric power stations. In the evening, we had a traditional Chinese dinner on the boat.
Day 3: Cruise and Exploration
We continued our cruise the following day, stopping at various small towns and villages along the river. We hiked up a mountain to see the breathtaking view of the river from above. In the afternoon, we visited a local market to buy some souvenirs and try some local snacks.
Day 4: The Leshan Giant Buddha
After disembarking from the boat, we drove to the city of Leshan to see the famous Giant Buddha. The Buddha is carved out of a cliff face and is one of the largest stone statues in the world. We spent the night in a nearby hotel, feeling the tranquility of the surrounding area.
Day 5: Chongqing and the Dazu Rock Carvings
The next morning, we drove to Chongqing, a bustling metropolis. We visited the Dazu Rock Carvings, which are ancient Buddhist carvings carved into cliffs. The carvings are a UNESCO World Heritage site and are incredibly detailed. We ended our day with a delicious hotpot dinner.
Day 6: Return to Beijing
On the sixth day, we started our journey back to Beijing. Along the way, we stopped at a small town to enjoy the local cuisine and to take in the picturesque scenery. We arrived back in Beijing late at night, feeling exhausted but satisfied with our adventure.
This self-driving trip was a memorable experience for my family and me. We not only got to see some of the most beautiful places in China but also created countless unforgettable memories.
